my cigarette lighter/realease button for convertible boot wont work....they keep blowing a fuse (they're both on the same one), i've put 2 fuses in it in the past day or so....wondering what kinda short circuit is causing this. anyone have any tips on how to fix this? it's getting to be an annoyance...

 

Check to see if you have a short at the cigarette lighter.

 

like under the dash in the fuse box?

 

You can check there also, but I would pull the cigarette lighter and see if there is a bare wire there or something in the lighter itself.

 

that's just it, i dont use the lighter the only thing i use there is my cell phone charger...

and i know it's not the charger that's bad b/c the top release button doesn't work when the charger dont work....somethins got a short circuit somewhere

 

He means check the wires behind the cigarette lighter socket. (What you plug the phone charger into)

 

gotcha when i get a decent day that's not freezing outside i'll go check it out....being at school without a garage is going to keep me inside alot...
