Best place to mount LED, valet switch, hood/trunk pins?

As the topic says, where's the best place? I'm thinking the LED should go where you wouldn't see it unless you were looking at/into the car so as not to draw attention, but discourage those "bad" people.

I was thinking put the valet switch in the trunk? I'm not sure if you need to have one of these? Any other good hiding spots? Because if they find that they can basically avoid the alarm right?

For the doors obviously they'll use the dome light circuit. But for the hood and trunk pins, is there a "best" spot for them?

Thanks
Jeff

I assume you are talking about the LED for an alarm system in this post. If so, I would recommend looking at the dash panel beneath the headlight switch and you will see a red LED bulb already mounted there and serves no other function than to hooked to an alarm system. As for the VALET switch, there is a little round hole in the front of the center console compartment just below the top that is well suited for that switch. I mention this since that is where I placed mine when I had a 92 camaro with an aftermarket alarm system.

Hehe,

I replaced the gear indicator housing bulb with a diode 194 equiv, and then hooked up the alarm to that, diode isolating it, of course. Looks baddddddazzzz!

I ran all wires into the rear glove box. There is an 18 amp gel cell back-up battery under the glovebox [lots of space in there].
The alarm panel is in that glovebox.
The starter-interrupt relay is on the firewall.
There is a little siren next to the gas filler neck. It is hidden by the plastic fender liner. The alarm is also connected to the horn relay coil negative lead, to honk the horn.
The alarm also works the door locks, parking lights, and dome lamp. Separate circuits for each on alarm panel.
Alarm is powered from the main battery, not the fusebox.
Most wires are fused for fire-safety.
Shock sensor is behind dash.
Glass break sensor has a microphone on a pigtail, for easy placement.
Valet switch and emergency starter interrupt bypass switch are in glovebox.
Flashing light is hard to explain, as it is a 1/2" x 3" plaque that flashes the words 'alarm on'.
Hood has pin switch, trunk has a hard -to -get open circuit mini magnetic switch.

Jeffrey,

Just read your private messages.
Will reply in the evening.

Seth

And, it is 'NoTransistors', not 'NoResistors'.
I chose that name, because I prefer and use Hi-Fi equipment that is based on tube technology. Simply sounds better than transistors. Way better.

OK, I had the chance to look at the car at the in-laws. The spot under the headlight switch is filled with a factory switch for the foglights. Thats why I was so confused I never saw the LED there! Any other suggestions other than those above?

Thanks
