4L60e Speed Sensor "Num. of Loads.

Hi All,
I'm in process of installing an 97 4L60e transmission into my 1982 Firebird. I am currently working on the wire harnesses and have ran into want I think maybe a problem.

I am adding the following Electroinc Systems to the car for the transmission install.
1) TCI TCU controller,
2) CableX to drive the Speedometer
3) Rostra Electronic Cruise Control

All three of these pieces of electroincs take the VSS output from the sensor on the transmission. I do know that the sensor will drive the TCU and CableX without any problems I am wondering if adding. the Curise Control will cause any problems with the VSS output sensor on the transmission.

OK the question is Has anyone else done this conversion and connected the VSS sensor to the three drvices?

Or Should I play it safe and install an VSS buffer?

Thanks

Bruce

Use a buffer module.

I am not guessing, I just did a project for a company doing something similiar. The output if the VSS sender is very sensitive to load impedance, or load resistance. Depending on the impedance of the other devices you may be able to get away without using a buffer or amp module. The manufacturer should tell you if an additional buffer is needed. Many of the newer add on devices have very high internal impedance and use thier own internal amp. You can use one from a newer TG that had the electronic speedo if needed. Is the trans controller the one from GM for the 60E? If it is, it will have a buffered output available.
