so this car has had many previous owners, i bought it and am currently fixing it up, im almost done with engine adjustments/repairs but there is some weird electrical stuff i have discovered during the restoration...

1. sometimes the passenger side blinker will randomly blink... it seems to do it when i mess with the battery, when the battery was low and i was jumpstarting the car, sometimes it would blink the right side, now that i have a new battery, the only time it blinks is when i open the doors... it just seems to blink about 10 times then stop for a second, blink a few more then stop completely...

it really doesnt seem like shorted wire or anything due to the consistency of the blinks... but maybe there is a wire that the doors use that is shorting out with the blinker'???

also right now the guages are not in the dash... inface the dash isnt in the car... so could that be a possible cause?

alright so thats the weird part, here is something thats probably a little more answerable...

there is a purple wire in the engine bay up near the relays on the driver side, its cut and the passenger-side-most part of the purple wire is connected to a red wire that goes through the firewall, and connects to a yellow wire that has been cut as well, it seems liek a sort of bypass... the yellow wire originally connected to a little blue connector on top of the steering column, it looks like the connector has just two other wires (red and orange) coming out of it, but the yellow wire was cut in half and the other end of the red wire connects the purple wire and the yellow wire together... i have some pictures that might help clear up confusion about this

here are the engine bay wires, i also dont know where this greenplug connects to or what it does... the other end simply isnt around




and here is where the red wire connects to the yellow wire,
NOTE: the yellow wire is connected with a butt connector to a black wire, the black wire connects directly to the red wire, so the black wire is just in between the red and yellow wires.. sorry for the weird picture, i dont know why whoever did this put the short lenght of black wire inbetween...


right at the base of the black wire where the tape is, is where the red wire connects.. then there are two other wires coming out of the blue connector... it looks like there are only 2 but i could be wrong.

any ideas? anyone know at least what the purple wire is? Thanks a million you guys!!!!
