1986 Iroc-Z Tach Not Working
I just bought/rescued a 1986 Iroc-Z from a towyard and the tach doesn't work. I take the guages out and see that a white wire on the right side harness pack that plugs into the guage back was cut. Looked like he spliced into it to run a tach on the column as a wire was running to there. I hooked that back up, still no working tach. Out on the distributor, there is no wire hooked into the HEI cap where it says "Tach" This is an LB9 TPI 305 car/A4. Should there be a wire hooked in there to run the tach? Because I searched all over around the back of the engine and can't find any loose wire to plug in. I even plugged in another gauge cluster and the tach still doesn't work.
If I can't find a wire under there to run to the dist, any other ways to get the factory tach working?
Thanks,
Jason
Current: 86 Iroc-Z LB9/A4
