Seat belt light on even with car off???

Anyone know where to go with this? This light will not go out, even with the key out. I continues to drain the battery. I pulled the fuse that turned the light out but the battery died anyways. I think I wave a short but don't know where to look. This is my 95 GM truck but any leads will help.

if the battery goes dead very fast you might have a short. If you have a short, you're probably going to blow a fuse or start a fire though.

If the battery goes dead after like a day or so, you have something thats slowly draining the battery. Get a multimeter, set it to amps. Take out a fuse one by one and measure the amps measuring across the contacts where the fuse was. Ideally you should measure 0 but somethings take a little power like the presets in your radio. If you get a high reading, then you probably found your problem. I dont know how the seat belt warning lights works, if its controlled by a pcm, maybe thats staying on. If you have an amp hooked up, i'd check to see that it turns off when you shut the key off.

Hope this helps.

Why not do a key off draw test? After the car enter's its "hibernation mode," disconnect the battery terminal and put an amp meter (set to Miliamps) in SERIES with the connector and the battery post. If its more than lets say 75mA, you definetely have a problem with a load using energy when the car is off. When a component doesnt turn off, it is usally a short to power. Keep this in mind.
