dead circuit when plugged in
Would anyone know what would cause the circuit to go dead, when the wire (that is "hot") when NOT plugged into the choke heater on my 86 T/A. is attached to the choke heater.

If the wire has a greater resistance than the choke heater then it will do that. Most likely the wire or fuse or connector is worn out a bit. check the resistance from the battery to the "hot" wire.

So that I don't leave anyone "hanging",here is what happened. On an earlier issue, my fan motor fuse kept blowing so I ran a new wire . What I didn't realize until tonight was that it also fed the choke circuit. I tied the old wire I cut, back into the new wire I ran and now everything is working, Apparently the wire that went through the fire wall was shorted and by leaving one end disconnected it still feeds the old circuit and the new wire feeds the other one,now both circuits are working properly. Thanks for all the input.
