hatch pull down, tried it all, still nothing

ive read every post on the hatch pull down. heres my story...
hatch wont pull down, no sound from motor, no nothing
my motor works when checked. i ran it with probes stuck in the little side holes on the up switch.
all fuses fine(except maybe 1, see end of post)
i have power to the red with white wire that connects to blue wire
i have power to my hatch light
i took apart my pull down switch, used a screwdriver to make contact where needed, nothing still
motor not whirring or hot either

seems i have all the power i need, seems my guides go easy up and down when i checked my motor, ive read that the unit will work even if the relay in my hatch is bad' so what now? ive waited till the last minute to post because ive done my homework, reading every post here on the subject, i did bypass the pull down switch by taking it apart( it looked fine inside anyways), and jumping ithe connections with a screwdriver. please lon help. 1991 bird
1 last thing, i said i have power back there, but i could never find the in line fuse next to my fuse box. i intentiually blew a fuse for the red to blue wire, it was in my fuse panel marked lid.i may not have the inline fuse as talked about in other posts. does the pull down switch also control the turning on/off of the hatch light (the light on the panel that i removed to take out my unit)?
can i strip the insulation on 2 of the 4 wires going to my motor at the lift switch to check if power is going there? thank all who reply

When you tested the motor, did you apply power directly to the motor leads, or route power through the end limit switches?

AFAIK, the motor is protected only by the LID fuse. The hatch release solenoid and the cargo lamp by the are powered separately by the ACC fuse.

i took out the motor and tested it from the 2 small holes in the side of the black box attached to the motor with a battery charger and it worked fine. my acc fuse is good as i have power to my light, and my lid fuse is looking fine too.
i may have to just start replacing parts starting with the relay in the hatch, then the pull down switch, then the up switch.(i think thats whats connected to the motor)
is what im calling the relay the hatch solonoid?
if the relay, and the solonoid are different, i will change them both. i want to fix this, not rigg it up so i gotta slam the hatch.

thanks for takin the time to reply.

i dont have a hatch popper in the car, only the key for the hatch. the solonoid is for the popper right?
