msd6al broken?
Im gona sound like a noob, but oh well. I got my car running back up again and noticed something quite intresting. the msd box that came with the car is not plugged in at all. What im wondering is how can u test if its broken? The cable that is suppose to connect it to the battery is cut and its not connected to the coil what so ever i will post pics. ty

The MSD box can be tested, I would pull it out of the car myself to test it on a bench but it can be done in-car.
You will need to supply 12 Volts from a battery (not a battery charger or small power supply - the MSD draws a great deal of current when it fires the coil).
You will need a coil to connect to the MSD's output. You can use an old distributor with a magnetic pickup to trigger the MSD box, or even an old speaker that you may have kicking around. Tapping the speaker simulates turning over the engine.
If you go to the Autotronics / MSD website you can download the wiring instructions for all their products - you'd be wise to have that on hand!
