Power mirror. late model switch in thirdgen.

i searched Earlier today and found a thread with links to instructions... but i lost it and connot find it again.

i have a 1988 GTA with stock power mirrors. i am trying to retrofit a newer style GM switch (93 lumina) into my GTA. some of the wires are the same color, most are not. i was wondering if anyone has any clue how to figure this out. any help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

the switch has the following wires exitiong from it.
yellow
purple w/white stripe
brown w/white stripe
white
green
red w/white stripe
orange
black

the yellow, green, and white wires had there own seperate connector. leading me to believe that they go to the drivers side door (in a lumina the switch is on the drivers side door)
black is probably ground

in a thirdgen i would think orange was for ACC. but since this is out of a lumina it could be the red w/white stripe. i'll do some experimentation and see what i can come up with. looks like i am probably the first person to attempt somthing liek this.

How is the switch mounting compared to the original? I'm still looking for a replacement switch for a '91 GTA.

it is a round ****. the know also rotates to switch between right and left mirrors. the whole thing is smaller around then a quarter, but is about 3 inches deep. i converted to 4th gen console is why i am getting a new switch. i'll get a picture of it up tomorow
