High Beam switch

I got a quick question. I havn't really had time to research this problem, so I figured I'd just throw it out there. Please don't bombard me with "do a search" replies.

I'm not to good with wiring diagrams either, just an FYI

For some reason, I can't switch to my high beams. It dosen't even click into the position, no matter how hard I pull the lever. BTW the car is a '92 RS

Thanks for any help, i really appreciate it

Kyle

Is your steering wheel saggining? It's a common problem and if so, it causes the lever to miss the switch.

i had that problem all i did was put in a floor switch. very easy to do. find the wires (plug) that goes to the high beam switch on the steering column under the dash. can't remember the specfics. you can cut the wires and attached to a floor switch and bolt to the floor. all done. hope this helps some

I went to the junkyard and bought a new steering column. It cost me $10, and took about 30 minutes to replace.

Floor switches? Steering columns? LOL
Nothing quite like reverting to ancient technology or swapping in parts that someone likely slammed into when they rearended a minivan... Sure beats the 5 minute fix.

Adjust the switch. It's actuated by a rod from the lever to the switch on top of the steering column. It's right next to the ignition switch. If it isn't clicking then you just need to loosen the bolts, slide it up towards the steering wheel. Keep going till it clicks.

The other possibility is that the switch is bad, in which case you need to replace it.
