No spark 5.7 TPI
Hello all;
Just finished putting car back together (took out dash, interior, put in T56) I try to start the car and no spark. Everything worked fine before i did the tranny swap so i'm leaning toward a wiring problem (instead of pickup, dist. module, etc.) since i took the dash out. The only wiring i changed was at the neutral safety switch. I did put on a new coil but didn't help.
My question is: are there a couple of specific wires i can chase to find out if something is disconnected? ie, power wires for the coil, where do they go? is there something simple i may be missing (all fuses look good, EVERYTHING else on car works, lights, gauges, fuel pump, wipers, etc)
Distributor cap is fairly new, car doesn't even try to start, just endlessly turns over.
Any and all help is appreciated
Kyle

Yup it does sound like a wiring problem.
Disconnect the two terminal connector at the
distributor. Then turn the key to the RUN position.
Are you getting 12 volts at both sockets on this connector?

thanks for the reply nina;
After checking all the wires and everything checking out, i took the dist. module and got it checked and it failed! Weird though that it would go bad by just sitting for 4 months!

I have heard of this more than once when the dashboard is removed and re-installed, don't ask me why, but apparently it does happen...
