Kill switch on a carb motor
There are a LOT of recent fody thefts in my area and it's got me a ittle spooked, so I'd like to see if I can't wire up a kill switch. I'm thinking of either splicing into the ignition somewhere or to the wiring in the steering column. Which would be the better way to go, and where should I splice the wires?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Do you have an MSD ignition or are you using the factory stuff? If you have an MSD then a kill switch is very easy to install. Not too sure on the factory stuff though. Although, I do remember seeing a few Cavaliers that had this special theft deterrant package. It consisted of a hidden magnetic relay located in the main ignition wire. The only way to start the car was with a magnetic keychain. You hold the keychain up to the dash in the area of the *hidden* relay, and the magnet closes the control side of the relay. You put the key in, turn the ignition, and away you go.

you can cut the power wire to your coil and put a relay in series. then put a switch anywhere you want.
