ok guys... just got this thing... and i pulled the headliner to work on.
Finally got the dome light off without breaking it (too much) and when i was waiting for my stuff to get tacky, i put a bulb in the dome to check it.
it worked fine, lit up very bright with doors open or with the switch ON... however, when i shut the doors, or turn the dimmer switch back to the dimming position, the light stays on, just not as bright.
it does NOT dim with the switch/dash lights... but stays a constant low light.
anyone have any suggestions? or can tell me while the headliner is out where i can re-run wire for it so that it'll still work with door pin activation and also activation from dimmer switch?

seems like you have a back feed somewhere check the door switches that there not grounding out even with the doors shut might even have some power bleeding through the dimmer switch may have to OHM the switch out
maybe even check for a bad/loose ground

either check your switch like redlsed88 said, or it sounds like you have a leak to ground in your negative wire. If the leak to ground weren't a very good connection, that would explain why the light is dimmer when the switch is open.
