No beep, steering wheel's fault!!!

is there suposed to be a gap between the main metal strip and the silver thing inside the wheel? ('main metal strip': behind the horn button, the only one that goes inside the center toward the wheel nut; 'silver thing': round, metal, eraser-sized, bottom-right corner inside the wheel) ANY help is appreciated

i thought id post my findings... i got my wheel off to investigate. and ended up being the small button. it has a tag on the side that slides in a J shaped groove. for some reason it was pushed down and over which kept it from touching the horn terminals. thanks for the help lol.
