someone please answer my question!!!!!!!!!

all i need to know is this

im installing a cs130 along with the serpentine setup in my 84 z which origonaly had a si type alternator
all i want to know is how do i install it so that my volt gauge in the dash still works and i dont fry the alternator

so basicly can i put a 35-100 ohm resister in that wire from the gauge and then connect it to the alternator at the "L" terminal is that right?

please all i need is to resolve this and i can drive it with the new engine

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
thanks steve

what style gauge do you have? (voltage or charge no charge). I'm not clear on the style alt that you have, does it have two wires (from volt. reg) and one to the battery? give me a little more info and i might be able to help. I rebuild alts wire streed rods for a living

i have a volt gauge (reads 8 13 16 volts etc...) and my old alternator was a si type two wires one to the battery terminal on the back of the alternator and the othe went to a bloack wire that was on the ground side of the volt guage and im trying to install a cs130 type alternator wich has 3 terminal 1 to batttery post on alternator one istn't used and one that i think goes to the black wire but from what i read it needs a 33 ohm resisitor to decrese voltage to the alternator
