Daytime lights always on

I've got a '91 camaro RS and when I turn on the car the lights come on, but it doesn't happen all the time. Under the dash pad is a sensor for the daytime lights so when it doesn't happen, if I put something over the sensor the lights come on then if I remove the lights go off. Trouble is it's intermittent. Can these sensors be replaced from a regular parts store or dealer product only?

Your car was originally sold in Canada and has factory Daytime Running Lights. Cut a hole in the dash pad for the sensor to look through. I'd suspect a replacement would be a dealer only item.
