Replacing Power Window Motor, need help
I finally got around to attempting to replace the window motor on my car. What a job that is turning out to be. Anyway, I used a very underpowered drill to try an drill those pivots out...
Thats not really the problem though, the problem is, the door panel. I have managed to pry off the plastic clips that connect the door panel to the door frame however, there is still the top that is holding the door panel in place.
I have tried virtually everything to get the door panel completely off, and I have no idea how to take it off from the top.
It would make the job so much easier if I can get that thing off, the tech articles say its connected by clips, I dunno if I should lift and pull as hard as I can or if I should just lift....
I don't want to break it obviously, but I do want to know the safest way of bringing this thing out.
Another question I have is, basically I got off to a very slow start yesterday...and I was wandering, once I drill all four of the pivots out is the motor going to fall off and will the window glass stay in one spot?
Do I need someone to hold the window glass or is it something I can hold myself? I don't wanna damage anything, I know I still have a long way to go, but hopefully I can get the damn thing replaced today and get it running by tomorrow..
Any ideas?
EDIT: I also have the Haynes Manual, I have literally looked in every page of that damn book, and I can't see anything about replacing window motors. I bought that book for the same reason as any other reason. Am I just looking in the wrong section or what?

first off the door panel. Its a little tricky but after you have all the plastic punch pins pulled pull the bottom of the panel away from the door and then pull up on the top of the panel. It might take a few trys and works alot better if the window is down. Second you will need someone to hold the glass up its verry heavy! then remove the rivits and window regulator. Third when you go to replace the motor be verry carefull of the spring that holds the arms. If you take that motor out with out locking the arm in place it will cut your fingers off!
what i do is drill a small whole through it and the motors bracket and put a screw through it. Hope i was helpful and be careful
