need help on 1983 camaro crossfire
Just had a quick question for anybody that might know. On a 1983 Camaro crossfire, what activates the little flaps at the back of the scoops? Any and all info will be helpful. Thanks

If it the same as the TA then the ECM will ground the flap when the throttle if fully depresed or there abouts. I would have to look at my shop manual if you need and thing exact. Let me know I am in the process of restoring a 83 TA and have it compltely torn down and can test or take picts of something if needed.

Armac is right in the operation is the same even though the T/A's and Z28's air door/air cleaner assemblies look nothing alike. There's a solenoid on the air door assembly to open the air doors. That solenoid is activated by a relay mounted next to the fuel pump relay on the firewall. The ECM controls the relay using the input signal from the TPS.One thing the motor has to be at normal operating tempature and the ECM in "closed loop" for all this to happen.
