yet another hatch pulldown/release problem warning big pics
ok my hatch realease worked just fine till the other day when the fuse blew, I replaced the fuse and not nothing. after removing the cover I realized that i had the hatch pull down motor as well
but, i guess thats why my hatch sits so high lol. but anyways nothing works. no noise or anthing, but there is this on wire that is unplugged frome somewere. (see pics) and i don't know were it goes. also the little lite in the hatch area also works.
also sorry about the pics, when i tryed to re-size them they looked like crap.

On 1990-91 that white wire is plugged into a black with orange stripe wire and turns on/off the hatch light. Yours has a manual switch for the hatch light, so that white wire is unused.
Check the Tech Article I wrote on repairing the hatch pull-down motor:https://www.thirdgen.org/tech/hatchpulldown.pdf
Check that the red with white stripe wire that is plugged into the blue wire has +12v. the fuse for the pull-down motor is in the #3 slot (third column, top row).
Regarding the hatch release switch. Make sure the black ground wire is present from the 10mm screw that attaches the hatch release solenoid to the ground location below.
