Low volts, whistling alternator
my camaro has "whistled" since i have owned it - a bit over a year now. I was told by a mechanic it is the alternator. recently i used tuner pro to have a look at a few things and saw my volts are pretty low. at one point during idle, they dropped down to 7.5 for a split second then back up to high 11s. whilst driving the volts are at high 12s to low 13s which ive read is far too low.
the only thread ive found with similar problems is here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...ighlight=volts
but there is no solution. can someone please help me out?

well i got the multimeter on the battery last night and tested it. looks ok now at idle - 13.9 volts. can tuner pro sometimes give false readings? or maybe the volts arent getting to the ecm?

yeah mine sounds a bit like a super charger too. many people have joked about it. as long as there is nothing really wrong with it i dont mind the noise.
