New ignition wiring

Due to a recent attempt by someone to steal my car, ive decided to redo my entire ignition wiring since the theif busted out part of my steering column, and breaking the little clip that connects the lock cyinder to the rod that moves the regular ignition switch. Ripped apart a spare one i had, figured out what connects to what for on, acc, and start, wired it up with a new keyswitch, and a push button start, plus a couple toggle switches, but all that happens when i go to start the car is i hear a little relay on the kickpanel switching but the starter does nothing. I hooked the wires back into the regular switch and used some pliers to push the rod and it fired right up. So does anyone have any suggestions on how to wire this up? Maybe a digram that shows what all the wires go to. I had all my wiring connecting into the harness so i didnt cut all the wires into a wire hell under my dash.
Any info is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

I know this might sound stupid but are you bypassing the clutch start switch too? How about VATS?

the vats is bypassed but im not for sure if the clutch switch is. theres a black cylinder thing on my ignition switch with a button in it that looks like it could be it...but when everythings hooked up like factory itll start whether the button in there is pressed in or not.
