temp gauge
temp gauge
Well I have a problem with my temp gauge. It's stuck all the way up and won't come down. I've taken apart the cluster and took it down, but when I start the car it just does it again. Could this be a problem with the gauge?

If the guage is pegged, check the wire to the sender. It may be grounded out on the exhaust or something.

When you start the car the temp gauge goes to max then comes back down(this is the correct movement). When you remove the gauge from the cluster does the needle move freely? The wire to the sending unit is grounded like bingo suggested. The sending unit is on the driver's side head between #1 and #3 sparkplugs and the lead is dark green.
