intermitten wipers or not?

I have an 86 IROC the steering column is out of an 84 camaro (that way when I got it) The wiper control only has off, mist, low, & high functions. I want to put intermittent wipers on it. I compared the wiring with a parts car I got that has intermittent wipers and the wires are exactly the same. I'm wondering if the PO just didn't change the lever when they changed the column. I checked the RPO codes for my car and it has RPO code CD4:wiper system windshield, pulse. Is this standard wipers or intermittent? I may only have to change the lever for the wipers. Any ideas?

Pulse is intermittent.

so all I'd have to change is the lever right?

Possibly the wiper motor cover, depending on which one you have on there now.

as far as I know everything is still the same original factory stuff except for the switch lever in the steering column. So "theoreticaly" speeking I should be able to change the switch and lever in the column and it should work.

Maybe, hard to say without putting some thought into it.

I have just the opposite situation. I have the control for delay wipers and the rest of the car does not. When the control is in the delay region, the wipers stop dead in their tracks. Also, the wash function does not work.

Researching this problem, it looks like the motor is different. I was concentrating on the washer issue. I think the pink wire for the washer goes to a different place with the delay wiper system. If I can remember, I will look at the book again tonight. I think all the electronics for the delay are actually in the motor.

Comparing wiper motors between your two cars... Are the motors different?

The motors are the same for pulse and non-pulse wipers. The electronics in the motor cover are different.
