Wild tach when cold!

It summer now and the tach works fine. However, in winter, the tach jumps when its cold on start up. I am not sure what would effect the wiring when its cold.

Any suggestions????

Are you sure all your plugs are firing while it's jumping?

No , although I did go through them with the timing gun and they all seemed to be firing. I am runing the hotter pluggs (shorties) and there might be a chance that one of the fouled. However, when the car is warm they all seem to be firing. This happened after I installed the HI6S ignition and I did wire a resistor in the tach lead wire and that seemed to help a little.

Do you know of any pluggs that are shorter and are the stock heat range??? Headers are in the way.

Plz let me know if you find any. I've been looking for them, but my local shops really have boneheads for workers. Most of the time they don't even understand the difference between a hotter and a colder plugg. They just recomend bosch. I did look at few side to side, but they were either short and hot, or long and cold. Nothing thats short and cold... Hmmm...
