Having ignition problems,help please!

hello I would appreaciate any help that you are willing to give me on this subject. I have been having problems with my car not firing properly, Im not sure how this started but my car is not firing but on the #1 cylinder I figured this out because I have headers and after cranking it over only that tube of the header is gettin warm from turning it over. I am fairly mechanically inclined, I just did an engine swap a few months ago and havent had any problems till now. I have completly changed out the distributer with one that i know works the only thing I havent changed is the roter cap but it looks new, I put the distributer back on the same tooth as the other, so I dont know what could be the deal. The only conclusion I have come to is that it has jumped time or somethin serious like that. please post a reply back to me I would greatly appreciate it. thanks for your help

Test for spark at each plug while cranking, just so you know what you're chasing. It's possible that wet (flooded) spark plugs are shunting the spark to ground, or the cap/rotor has hidden cracks, or the coil/coil wire is failing. It could actually be anything with the ignition, or possibly nothing with the ignition at all. You'll know after testing for spark.
