interior electrical input...
Recently bought an 84 TA. Owner before last cut out the ECM and rewired the car...not the best job. I've got most of the problems out of the way. All I have left is this...All electrical will be working fine...but when I turn on the headlights all ACC power cuts out, lol. I'm going to be working on it sometime in the next couple of days. I just wanted to konw what you guys thought could be up. Always helps to have extra input on something I may over look. The thing that baffles me the most is this...When I turn the headlights off the ACC power returns...but my stereo will start the CD back to track one...so the 12v source to my stereo is even getting cut out somehow...what do you guys think could be up? Thanks, Jamie
Wild guess? A poor connection at or within a fusible link (probably Link A) Connector C100, terminal G5, or the spliced connection at or near the light switch.
When you turn the headlights on, do they actually illuminate, or simply kill the power?

They actually light up. They work just fine, tail lights too. But when they come on the ACC power shuts off...While rewiring other portions of the car I've noticed that some wires were just cut and left, some were jumpered, some wires don't lead to anything. It's starting to get confusing. This is the last of the electrical problem though. I'm assuming that it all will lead to one problem area, that will be easily fixable...I hope...When the previous owner removed the ECM all he did was cut it out, then started rewiring what quit working. What he did have wired up right was done good. He just never got around to finishing it, this was his project car. It would have been a lot easier had I done all the wiring myself so that I knew what was done and how it was done...oh well. I'll hopfully track the problem down tomarrow....Thanks for the suggestions.
