Need some general input: oil pressure fuel pump switch?
On my 86 T/A there is a switch that engages the fuel pump when the oil pressure gets high enough. I believe its if your fuel pump relay dies- build up enough pressure and it kicks the pump on. My question is how necessary is that? THe odds of the fuel pump relay dying are pretty slim. Not to mention if I can't hear the pump prime or see my FP gauge go up, then I can just jump the terminals of the relay to drive home and replace it. I want to remove the switch since I'm cutting down on wiring but I want some input from others since I'm far from an expert these cars.

I had a mechanic forget to hook that up and had no problems what so ever. Since I had a different oil pressure gauge with its own sender, I never even noticed until I was looking around by the oil filter and saw the empty connector on the stock sender.
