altenator not charging
i have a 91 rs camaro. the plug for the altenator was gone during engine swap to a carbuerated 355. i got a new plug from oreillys on the plug it has 4 letters on the side where the wires come out of the plug. the letters are s f l p. on the s pin there is a red wire. on the f pin there is a black wire. on the l pin there is a brown wire. on the p pin there is no wire. my question is where exactly does these go to and is there suppose to be a wire from the p pin in the plug. i have tried and read everything but cant get it charge the battery. new battery and new altenator. just about ready to pull my hair out. any help would be most appreciated.

i dont know about the wiring but i do know that the alternator charging circuit is wired through the electric fan fuse. i believe that the fuse is a 25 amp or so. check the fuse i have seen a lot of people with no charging voltage having that fuse blown.
just a thought though

if you could get me that wiring diagram it would be greatly appreciated. i have been playing with it and its driving me crazy. if i jump it off it will run for a little bit and then it will die. then it is hard to start with the jumper cables. you have to charge it with jumper cables for a while. and also check the fan fuse it is good.
