Pop up headlight help

My driver side headlight will not pop up, it wont even come up if I manually turn the **** and pull up on the light. Is there anyway to get it to come up so the cops wont harrass me at night?

Is your motor energizing at all? First thing to do is repair them using one of the headlight repair kits with Delrin bushings. I offer two such kits. TDS 207280 has just the 3 bushings to repair one headlight motor. TDS 209280 has 6 bushings, gaskets, grease, screws and nuts. Bot kits come with detailed instructions. You can download the instructions for TDS 209280 from the lower right hand side of my web site. If the motors aren't energizing check the wiring they may have been un-plugged.

Not necessarily. Read the description of the kit. The bushings fill the gap between the gear and the 3-lone cam on the shaft that raises and lowers the headlight bucket. When the bushings break down to a spoonfull of chunks then the gear will just free-wheel and you won't be able to raise or lower the headlights.

Temp fix: try slamming on the bucket with one fist while you're turning the ****. You may get it to free up and raise abruptly. The lever arm of the bucket normally goes over-center, so it may just as easily slam shut while you're driviing too. Order the kit and specify Priority Mail and you'll have them in a couple of days to fix the problem once and for all.
