Foglights turn off when headlights turned on

Foglights turn off when headlights turned on
Im not sure if they are supposed to do this or not but I replaced my foglights today and they work great but whenever I go to turn my headlights on they automatically turn off. Is it supposed to do that or is there something wrong?If anyone knows what may be wrong or how I can make them stay on while the headlights are on please let me know. Thank!

I'm sure this isn't the problem... but are your hi-beams on? If so, the foglights will be off. Check the simplist things first

Interesting tidbit of info that nobody asked for:
From 86-on, your fog lights would work with your parking lights on and when your low beams are on. As you learned, they won't work with high beams.
BUT... in 85, in addition to many other one-year-only peculiarities, the fog lights would come on ONLY with the low beams. With just your parking lamps on, the fog lights will not come on.
