i have a weird problem when i put the ignition in run position as soon as i shut the car off while the engine is still spinning the engine starts up without cranking what could be wrong i noticed it while i was playing around with the car to see how fast it fires up after up grading my ignition system could the starter solenoid be the culprit?
good call guys my friend who is a mechanic installed a new msd distributor for me so maybe he didnt install it to the correct timing degrees looks like another trip to my tuner since im running an aftermarket ecm

definitely dieseling... if you had a carb you could just choke it to stop it... that is how it is on this old mack truck i have at work. it's ghetto as hell but it's fast.

The momentum of the crank still spinning is the exact same thing as the starter spinning it. Crank spins, mixture lights off, engine starts. Doesn't matter if it's momentum from running, the starter, or popping the clutch while rolling.
Simple fix: be patient for 1.5 seconds and let the engine shut off before you start it back up.
