Spent the better part of the day reading posts here on the site via the search engine. But i have not seen a cure or end result to the madness. As it stands right now i think i'm going to order a new gm dizzy from the perf parts dept as thats the only way to get a new one and send the msd nightmare back to summit....drove 1200 miles from colorado to calgary and it ran fine but not spectacular...and setting the timing as usual is the issue. I tried reversing the polarity of the pickup coil as per msd and it did retard the timing...but i couldn't get it to idle worth a blank and opening the throttle caused smoke and popping and farting so i tried a spare module in my road box and got the same results. Its either got to be the pick-up or rotor phasing.

At this point i guess i need to call my local parts man at home and have a new gm dizzy shipped up here while i am in the field for a week or so...as with the gm dizzy i usually run 4 degree's advance...plug her back in and the puter takes it from there with no issue's. I was hoping to squeeze another degree or two out of it with the new dizzy coupled with the 6al box and the super conductor wires before i ran into detination...

Anybody have any comments or similiar msd dizzy stories please feel free to post up....
