dual post batteries
i want to get a yellow top dual terminal optima battery and put it in my 83 firebird. i was planning on using the side post for the main pos and neg leads and then use the top posts to attach and accessories (amp wires, etc). i was wondering if this would be ok for the battery or if it could somehow damage it or the car since it's drawing current from both side and top terminals.

This should not be a problem, and is what I plan on doing at some point as well. The battery doesn't care if both sets of posts are being used...as long as it is well-grounded and your charging system is in good order, all will be well.
