Aftermaket security?

alright i ran into a problem with my firebird... i have a security system called "Code Alarm" they are a company that is based in the bay area in california about 10 years ago... well let me get back to the problem.

the car has an alarm but it is disconnected and it also have a button under the steering wheel that has to be depressed in order for the car to turn over... well im thinking the button is going bad or a bad connection in the wireing... does anyone have this type of security feature on their car also?

and how could i bypass this?

it is just a regular button and it has 2 wires connected to it.

any info will be greatly appreciated!

Dig under the dash by the left kick panel. Look for a thick yellow wire and a thick purple wire. This is your starter relay. It is most likely spliced into the alarm. Just remove the splicing and put it back to the way it was.

Then throw away the old alarm!
