FOG LIGHTS HEATING H/L SWITCH UP
Hey guys I have a question for you's. I had to install a new h/l switch cause my lights were flickering. So I did that and now when I put my fog lights on the switch heats up really fast then I turn them off and it goes back to normal. So I wanted to change my relay but I cannot find it. I did a search and came up with the d/s firewall but all that is there is my esc and fp relay. I know what I'm lookin for but I don't see it anywhere. I checked under the dash too, and nothing. Any help would be appreciated. It's an 85 IROC.

Sounds like a poor connection to the switch. Make sure all the connection to the switch are good an secure. Check and make sure the wires are still good. They usually heat up when there poor current flow for some reason or another.

Yeah I sort of figured it out, there definatly isn't a relay somebody bypassed it with some fusible links. I'll have to put one in. But I did get them working right again for now, I had a bad ground on my H/L switch. And my dimmer switch was defective. Thanks guys for your replys and that diagram will help a lot.
Are they factory fog-lights? If so, the relay will be mounted either by the brake booster or between the radiator and the battery depending on the year.
Also, factory fog-lights do not follow the above diagram. In the factory setup, the switch actually controls the +12v from the FOG fuse (or fusible link for older). The relay is switched on or off by the high-beams. Kind of a dumb setup if you ask me, which is why I've rewired my 86 to the above diagram.
