Knowing the motor would help - make a sig line so we can all see what ya got.

Is it legal for you to remove emissions in your area?

If so, and assuming you mean the smog pump and AIR system, on a v8 305 for example you'd ...

Simply replace the exhaust manifolds with the headers, remove the smog pump as per the instructions on tech page ( www.thirdgen.org/serpentine ), and cut off the little tube coming out of the cat converter, crimp the end, and weld it shut.

wow thats helpfull and im a beginner here so im not sure what a sig list is but i have a 89 camaro , 305 tpi everything is stock but the k+ns and the flomaster 80 the engine is been rebuilt 2000 kms ago and yes it is legal tyo have the emission off and all i am worried about is i belive its the smog pump there is some metal pipe comming out of the manifold and the o2 sensor is attached to the manifold and my concern was if i replaced them with the 2460 hkr headers that it will mess with the o2 sensor and that might mess with the maf sensor or somthing like that and my service light would come on and my car would run like .. well sh-it

Well, you should get headers with the O2 bung in place, taht way you can install your O2 and not worry about it. Or, a welder can install an O2 bung for you in the header.

There is no real reason to remove the smog system - it doesn't affect performance in any way - however I understand if your wanting specific headers that would not allow the smog system to remain in tact.

Better wait on a chime-in from a TPI person to know what effect removing smog pump would have in a TPI system - all I know about is TBI and carbed apps.

You need the o2 sensor but not the smog pump and tubes.
