Anyone know why I would be hearing a repeated clicking sound coming from the IAC when I insert the key into the diagnostic terminal? Does that mean it's shot? If I disconnect the IAC adaptor it stops.

Long story short, I've recently replaced the MAF, ECM, and TPS sensor and I'm still gettign error 34 and the problem is actually worse now. The engine will turn over but cuts off immediately. Previously, it would cut out occasionally when I was coming to a stop or was stopped in drive. I've cleared the codes since replacing the TPS (most recently.) And now if I try to check the codes a repeated clicking sound is heard from the IAC. Previously, I would hear a single click when the key was inserted into the terminal (not sure if that single click was coming from the same place.) Is it possible for a faulty IAC to cause code 34 to appear? Could it be the cause of the problems I'm seeing? And any idea why the problem has gradually gotten worse, especially with the new equipment installed? Any help would be appreciated.

fyi, I have an 87 IROC, 305 5.0 TPI.
