PROM ENCODING

if i go to the junk yard and get a computer and remove the prom, could i send it to someone and have them re-program it for me, being it is easier and better to do it yourself..... so is there anyone that can help me out..... ill throw some bucks at ya....

You wouldn't necessarily need to pull a computer and a prom from a yard, anyone with an EPROM programmer and a handful of the right spare EPROM's could program a new one and send it to you. The big question however is what kind of computer we are talking about, and if you have, or know, what kind of code you want to go into that EPROM.. Tuning an engine back and forth via snail-mail doesn't sound very viable..
