Remote Starters

I have a 87 Camaro with a 305 4 barrel and I been having some trouble trying to find this answer. I wasn't sure if you could put a remote starter on a carburated engine.

Yes you can. If it starts easily go for it. If it is cold natured and you have to pump it several times to get it to start I wouldnt.

They make a solenoid with a limit switch you can put on your car that will pump the gas for you, you have to hit a button on your remote to make it pump once, then engage your remote start. Anyone who sells remote start kits will know about them.

Try searching this forum on Remote Start, I know this has been gone over several times. You may find a brand name and part number to go along with this info.

i always see remote starters at auto stores and retail stores on the shelf that have already been purchased then returned.......serioulsy go to any store that carrries one and youll see a already opend returned one. id agree with thaforce
if you car doesnt start on one slight turn of the key its not worth getting.

I will be putting remote start on the Z sometime over the next couple months, I have had remote start on my last 3 vehicles, it kinda spoils you hehe.

I plan on getting a 2-way system with alarm this time around, with the window module, I will also be able to pop the rear hatch. I havn't chosen it yet but I employee discount on DEI/Viper and Bulldog stuff.
