89 trans am headlight switch?

hey all, just wondering about the headlight switch. when i push the button on the right, the headlights pop up, isnt that supposed to be the running lights? then when i hit the left button the lights dim flicker and get a little brighter? shouldnt the lights go up when the left button is pushed?

Time to repaif the headlight motors using either 207280 or 209280 headlight repair kits. Don't ask me to explain it, but several of my customers had this same probelm you describe. After they repaired their headlights using my kits their problem no longer existed.
