91 TA gauge cluster swap questions.
Alright, I've spent quite a while searching and have come up with a lot of this and alot of that, but no answers to my specific questions, so...
I have a 91 Trans Am with the 120mph/6k tach cluster. As the odometer and trip meter are dead, I purchased a brand new never used 140mph/8k cluster. My questions are...
Will this be a straight functional swap? Will the tach/speedo/fuel/etc read correctly? From what I have read, the answer is yes(at least for the electronic models like mine it seems) But I would like a confirmation of that.
Next, what am I going to have to remove to get the old cluster out? The front face plate I know, I believe the knee bolster and anything else?
Once I get the bolts off the cluster, the ones that bolt the cluster itself to the car, do I just pull the whole cluster out? I know on the older cable clusters you needed to remove the cable from the back, but the elctronic ones have a plug instead.
