ok so i just got an 88 iroc with a 350 pertty much everything stock. soon after i got it i noticed a loud kinda high grinding/growling (i was told it was called pinging) when pushing the car hard like slaming the gass and going flying kinda thing, and sometimes when im doing this the check engine light will come on and i have checked it and its a error 43 (sopposedly eather a short in tthe electrical a faulty ecs or a faulty ecm or the knock senser(s))...sooo, i dont know, what would you guys say is most likely wrong?...i would rather not have to pay and replace everyone of those parts if i dont have to...

I WOULD START WITH THE KNOCK SENSOR&ESC WIRING.I ONCE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 87 IROC.TURNED OUT THE WIRE FOR THE KNOCK SENSOR HAD TOUCHED THE EXH. MANIFOLD AND GROUNDED ITSELF. REPLACED THE DAMAGED WIRE, AND IT RAN JUST FINE.
