Yep. The grounded "F" will kill the sequence, firing them all together.

Re: Sequential turn signals
These would not work on a stock Camaro, the taillight wiring on the car would have to be heavily modified. And the taillights themselves would have to be modified as well to turn the amber to red.
I myself would love to have the STS on my Z28 but am not sure if it's worth my time to do it. Yet.

Re: Sequential turn signals
The rear turn signals and brake lights are separate bulbs on a Camaro but are integrated on the GTA (TA). So you'd need to change out the components in the steering column, possibly run some extra wires (from the brake switch to the multifunction switch and then you'd need to redo the rear wiring, changing the amber lenses to red and putting them on the same wire.
It shouldn't be hard to do but it sure would require a person to know what they're doing. If ... and I say IF ... I'm ever bored in the future (I think I'll die first
), I might attempt this on my Z28. Just for sh*ts and giggles.

Re: Sequential turn signals
I'm still here....Been selling them since May of LAST year.
Almost out, but I have 3 sitting here. Originally, we were going to do a second batch, based on the # of interests I got in the beginning, but due to the lack of actual sales, once this first batch is gone, we're done. Not going to make more, short of enough pre-paid orders, to warrant ordering the parts needed, and having the custom circuit boards made.
If you want to order by mail, here is a print-out order form , or I can take Paypal at SteveCranford@Austin.rr.com .

I'll keep my eyes open on Paypal. As long as it arrives before 5, I'll do my best to ship that day. Worst case, it will go out the next day, for sure. Except Sundays, of course.

Re: Sequential turn signals
This STS unit will work on ANY car that has 2 or 3 lightbulbs per side.
If you have only 2 brake/turn bulbs on each side, it's not hard to add a 3rd one at all.

Yep. These are UNIVERSAL. I've even seen these used on the FRONT signal, of a Dodge Dakota.

Re: Sequential turn signals
Ok....
2 units ready to go, MIGHT have 2 more after this, probably just 1 though.
After these are gone, no more will be made.
I can take Paypals to SteveCranford@Austin.rr.com. I'll take M.O. too, but if a Paypal order comes in first, they'll be gone before your mailed M.O. comes in.
If anybody mails in a M.O., and I'm out, I will let you know, and mail the M.O. back.

Re: Sequential turn signals
Did anyone ever get this to work on a camaro? I have an 87 Z28 sitting here that has all sorts of wiring issues, it was basically hacked and rewired by a bunch of high school kids, but we got it cheap.... So I'm going to rewire the car as we go...
It does have a good set of the grid tail lights, and I'm kind of curious about this because i think it would be one of those mods that would just make the car...
So, two questions, first did anyone try this on a camaro yet? I have no problem converting the amber lens to red if need be to make it all look more cohesive, I've seen that done on many 3rd gens.
Secondly are any of these units even still available.
Any chance someone could send me a wiring diagram from one to see what inputs / outputs are there.
Thanks in advance,
George

Re: Sequential turn signals
Yes, 2 are ready to ship upon payment, same day by 5pm. Here's a pic of the front. They are green connectors now, not black.
6 tail light connections, 4 for Ground (only need 1 really), and 2 for front turn inputs, to make the brakes operate stock, instead of sequencing 1, 2, 3, then they all stay lit, until the pedal is released.
All the connections are screw clamps. No soldering needed.

Well, for the 23 people who bought one, THANK YOU!
Consider your cars, 1 of 23 now! You've got "rare" cars now! LOL

Re: Sequential turn signals
Noe of the sales fell through. Both payments received, STS shipped, and received by the buyers.
Re: Sequential turn signals
So you're all sold out with no plans of making more right?
Any chance of sharing the schematic or some insight into how this works? I'm thinking scr's and a shift register would do the trick... Use the shift register to trip the scr's and the 4th position to short the anode / cathode Via an inverter to turn them off, then repeat.. I'm not trying to copy the design and sell it, it's one of those "Someday" mods when i get my camaro to where i want it to be...
Thanks in advance,
George

Re: Sequential turn signals
I'm with George, and I even bought one. In my case I know that I'm going to end up experimenting with it anyway and it would be nice to have something to work from, even if I could just get a chip number from you in case I end up having to replace it (looks like you went to some effort to remove it from the chip).

The controller was had its part # removed for a reason...
If my designer says it's OK to share any details, I will. It's his personal design, from scratch. I only built & sold them. He gets all the credit.
I'll post details when he says yes or just no.

Re: Sequential turn signals
With a minimum of 20 PRE-PAID orders, we have no problem building more.
When we first made mine, there were a dozen or do people who said they wanted them, so we built them, but then nobody bought for for several months, and half of the "I want one." people, never even bought one.
This was done for fun, not as a business-type profit machine. So, we aren't willing to fork out the initial investment to buy all the parts, then have no buyers again.
Sorry. Anybody wanna buy 20?

Is there any reason why this thing shouldn’t work on a TA with a digital dash? I’ve been getting a R Lamp warning since I messed with it, and I can’t find any bulbs/lamps out.

Strange that you get the R and not the L. IIRC the digital dash used some sort of ground connection to let you know if you had a lamp out or something like that. Did you hook the left side up differently than the right? In regards to grounds? I have the factory manual for the digital dash if you want to look at schematics.

Re: Sequential turn signals
If the turn signals work ok, I can't think of a reason why the dash would report a turn signal failure.
Unless the digital dash is so smart that it senses the load of the turn signal and doesn't like the changing load of 1-2-3 lighbulbs, as compared to the original 2-bulb load. That would be my only guess that it thinks one lightbulb is out because it senses only 1 bulb when it turns on the signal.
Can anybody confirm whether or not the digital dash senses the signal load?
Lou

I think it uses the ground through the filament to sense if the connection is open or closed. I do not think that it uses load in any way, I can check my service manuals tonight.

I just checked my 88 service manual. The Driver information center (DIC) uses wires with matched resistances to compare whether or not the filaments have failed.

Does the manual say anything about precedence of error reports?
Is it possible that it checks and reports right side first and then checks and reports left side?
Scooter, could you please post the info about the DIC? I'm very curious how it works, never seen it before. And you know how engineers are, we gotta take things apart and study them to understand them.
