Dizzy to Ign.module wire.able to replace?

hey guys while trying to replace my ignition module on my car tonight I found that the wire from under the rotor to the ignition module lokked like it had been covered in battery acid.is there a way for me to just replace this connector or do I have to buy a whole new distributor?

The wires connecting to the ignition module are from the pickup coil. Sounds like while you are in there, you should replace the pickup coil - fairly inexpensive. You will have to pull the distributor to change the p/u coil. Not a bad job, just a tight spot getting dist out. Make sure you buy a new O-ring for the distributor.

The pin is nothing more than a spring lock pin. You drive it out from either end with a drift pin. Support the shaft on a couple of blocks of wood and drive the pin out. You will have to work the rotor shaft up and down several times to break the varnish hold on it.
Make sure you get a replacement O-ring for the distributor or you will end up with an oil leak - this is the voice of experience speaking here!
