You need to re-set it. Reach inside and press the small black switch just in front of the latch. Pressing the switch causes the unit to power down. When you hear a CLICK, the reversing switch has been tripped stopping the down cycle. Release the switch and it will power back up and be re-set.

ok i got it to go up and down now..
I had to replace, i believe it was, the solenoid..
now my hook attached to the trunk wont lock in..
its liek a bit.. 'off target'..
So i flipped it around, now it locks, but doesnt suck down..
Im goin to a junkyard to look for a new hook thing..
and if that doesnt work, ill try redrill new holes so it lines up with the hatch thing

Thomas, I'll save you a trip to the Pick-a-Part yard and some unnecessary labor (don't drill anything).
Reinstall the hatch hook as it was originally. Then remove the plastic hatch surround trim (4 large plastic screws and two small Phillips-head screws). Then mark the current location of the pull-down unit to the body using a permanent felt-tip marker or scratch awl. This will give you a starting point before you start moving it. Next, lower the hatch and see which way you need to move the pull-down unit so the hatch hook is centered on the latch. Undo the three 13mm screws and move the pull-down unit, tighten the screws then re-check the hatch hook to latch alignment. Once you have it aligned it should wiork properly.
What is happening is the hatch hook isn't contacting the striker-sensing switch properly to start the "down" cycle. That switch is just in front of the latch. The same one I told you to press earlier to re-set the unit. Make sure there are no worn spots on the small paddle of the switch. If so, then it should be replaced. GM discontinued the switch. You can search for a used one in better shape at the PAP yard or get a brand new one from my web site.
You only need to replace the hatch hook if it is excessively worn by the latch. If so weld the hook and re-grind it or replace with a used one in better shape.
