Did the capacitor fix, my tach worked and then died again!
Did the capacitor fix, my tach worked and then died again!
On my '88 Camaro, I did the capacitor swap that everyone does when a tach reads incorrectly. Anyway, the tach always worked before, it just read super high. I swapped in a new capacitor, and the tach started reading correctly. However, the next time I started the car, the tach needle stayed at zero, and it's done this since.
Any ideas? Could the capacitor I put in have come unsoldered? Did I really mess something up?

I would pull it back out and double check the solders. Then check and make sure the capacitor didnt die.
by the way, which capacitor is the right one? I just swapped mine, to what I thought was the right one and it made it twice as bad.

there must be different tachs in these cars. I did the exact same capacitor and it made it twice as bad as before.
