no power to headlights, hatch, dome etc...
Hey,
I have an 89 formula 350. the other day one headlight motor was giving me a problem because the bearings were almost gone so the motor would cycle alot before turning off. a few days later, I get in the car and the headlights wont turn on, there is no guage lights, no dome light, no power to the hatch motor or the door locks. What the heck happened?
I fixed the bearings in the headlight motor but nothing works still. also, if i leave the harnesses connected to the headlight motors, I hear them clicking and the **** on top is moving in like one degree increments and wont shut off...? Ii thought maybe it was a problem with a fusible link, but im no electrician and have no idea where it is. (also no fuses are blown under dash)
What going on?
Thanks

Ok here's the update
1. 89 firebird(different wiring than earlier years)
2. NO power to rear hatch, headlight switch, radio faceplate, ctsy light,or door locks, no guage illumination(but there are the warning light which are on a seperate fuse anyway..)
3. No power to tail fuse, ctsy, or inst lamp fuse
4. there is power to acc fuse(which i believe is the big silver 30 amp one..) But no power to the things on which i believe are on its circuit according to the wiring diagram.
5. the headlamp door module under the hood has power going in, and when i flip the headlight switch I get around 2.5 VOLTS coming out of all prongs on the other side of the module, but the motors or lights dont go on...
6. I have continuity from point a to b on all the wires I have checked so far...(a bunch)
7. the headlight switch reads continuity and ground on a thick red wire coming from the fuse box, continuity on the orange too....
[this all statrted from a headlight motor that ran longer than normal before shutting off because of bad bearings. then one day i get in car and all the symptoms above...but without driving the car(so no wires got shook around) all of a sudden i would have power again... ctsy lights and all would work but when i hit the headlamp switch or horn the lights and all power would go out. I did it real quick a few times and then it would come back on in a minute, but I held it for about 10 secs the last time and no power since]
What gives power to the fuse box for the tail fuse(which the headlight switch runs on? the inst lamp fuse seems to get power from the same source according to the wiring diagram.
Why would the pwr acc fuse still be getting power but my door locks wont work?
