No electrical power to fuse box
No electrical power to fuse box
Electrical Novice needs help!
Bought the 92 camaro RS 6 cyl. for my daughter for that is what SHE wanted. Made me proud. Car ran great for a while. Bought it w/ a "rigged" toggle switch for a fan. Didn't think much about that. Well, the car wouldn't start several months later at a gas station. Someone got it started for her. Now it has NO POWER to anything. Yes, I've replaced the battery, I've insured there is a good ground. Checked the four fusible links I could find. Replaced two by the starter for they had been hot by the exhaust. Could this be the ECU? Could this be a pass key problem? On another note, the previous owner had cut the bright light connector off and had rigged a toggle there. I replaced the ignition SWITCH, not the tumbler assembly and found this rigging. Previous owner shared that he had rigged this up for his brights had stopped working. I can only find a small white wire that has positive energy that goes to the firewall to what I would assume would end up in the fuse box. No fuses have power. I've replaced one relay on the fender well. I've rehooked up the fan to factory. Still no power. I'm stumped.
Your help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

The computer and the VATS don't kill the power to the fuse block.
The larger red wires at the pass through block should be hot all the time. You need a test light (screw driver looking thing with a wire and a light in the handle). Start at the battery, then the large post on the starter, the junction block on the passenger side by radiator and through the pass through until you find problem. Sorry if you did this already, not sure how "novice" you are.

I'm inside now. Working off memory. I've used a test light to check positive power. Got it to the starter. The light is bright to the end of the positive cable at the starter (I can also cross over between the switch terminal & positive terminal and it cranks over just fine) Now, I only have power to the starter positive cable. I don't have it going to the other two cables on the starter. I figured they would not have power until key was ignited and cranking was to begin. (wish mine would do that). I do have power to the junction box by radiator. I've followed these wires. They ended up being to the fan, probably a pressure relay to the ac. I do not have positive power to the three red wires that go to the firewall at the end of the harness that connects to the firewall. I assumed that they should be hot.

At your starter there should be the large red wire that goes directly to your positive battery post. On this same terminal of the starter should be two or three other smaller gauge wires that send constant battery power to the rest of the car including the fuse block. Are these not connected? If so that is your problem.
The other smaller post on the starter should only have the purple starter wire. When you twist the key, it gets hot and is what turns your starter motor on.
Grounds: The battery negative should be bolted to a bracket directly on the engine with a smaller branch going to the body. All the other grounds rely on these two connections.
