Dome light and under dash lights???

Hey...last night i replaced the headlights in my car and now the dome light and under dash lights wont go off. I had to take out the battery to get them to come off...I made sure the doors arnt open causing them to stay on...is there anything else that can cause these lights to stay on?...also i cant start my car cause when i was replacing my headlights i had my radio goin and all the lights on so i think i drained the battery lol...could a drained battery cause this?...thanks

Is your wiring hacked up at all? I would also check your door jam switches and make sure that they are working properly.

ok, just have to ask...I know this may sound simple, but have you tried to turn your headlight pull out switch? there is a position on the switch to leave dome lights on.

..damn...that might be it lol...il try it after when i get the battery back in the car...i got my battery on charge right now lol...i tried boosting my car with my 03 Civic and 02 CR-V...and it wont work...why not?...at first i thought it was cause it was a little 4 cylinder trying to start a V8 but then i thought that they were all 12 volt so it should start right up...then i heard that for some reason new cars won't start some older cars...why not??..thanks

Has nothing to do with new or old, 4 cyl vs 8...i'd say your battery is too far gone. checkl fluid levels in the battery, trickle charge it for about 24 hours, toss it in, trun off the dome lights and fire her up...happy holidays

If you can do like kenf729 suggested and leave the battery on trickle charge till it's fully charged you'll be better off.Nothing will kill an alternator faster than trying to recharge a dead battery. Also Auto Zone will recharge/check your battery for free. And don't feel bad about the headlight switch and the dome lights it's easily done.
